Confusion

Last Wednesday I had a doctor appointment... It was confirmed that I do have an autoimmune disorder. :( He said that I have a "diffuse connective tissue disease." He said that the methotrexate would not affect the fibromyalgia, which definitely points to an autoimmune disorder then. I haven't read up on it yet, I'm honestly scared. My doctor said that the methotrexate will keep it mild (hopefully) and keep it from becoming full-blown.

I'm honestly just scared. I knew something else was going on with my body, even if I didn't know what. Blah.

  2. "diffuse connective tissue disease"? I've been looking into some of the connective tissue diseases lately, as they are associated with hypermobility and blue sclera, as well as translucent skin - all of which I have to some degree. I did not know there was a term to describe them as a group, if that's what this is. I have not been diagnosed with EDS, Sarcoidosis, or any other collagen diseases, but I'm still searching for answers to my symptoms that don't seem to fit Fibro. Take comfort in knowing that you finally have more information to help you treat your ailing body. It's okay to be scared, but I hope you can move forward with your diagnosis and get more effective treatments. Best of luck and hope you feel better soon!

  3. Hi Jen:
I have sent you two emails, but don't know if you got them. Many, many people get better because CFS ( lupus, etc) are inflammatory diseases.
    Hi Jen:
I am following you on twitter (rickfree). It is food that causes the problem!!! I see you are eating fries ( as per one of you latest twitter messages).
Read "Enter the Zone" or "The Anti-Inflammation Zone". CFS, etc are all inflammatory diseases.
Read one of those books. CFS ( and inflammatory ) diseases can be beaten. Read one of the Zone books and then you will understand what cause CFS and these inflammatory diseases. Also, you will see what steps have to be taken to regain your health. Just because you had it since you were 10, don't believe you can't get better. :-)
If you are truly as tired and angry at being sick as you say you are in your Twitter messages, then reading one of these books is not that big a step.
Contact me any time you wish.

    Best wishes
